A workshop exploring psychological safety, sustainable performance, and the hidden patterns shaping how we work

Almost all of us have to face professional life while struggling with people-pleasing, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, overachievement, or the feeling that we always need to prove ourselves. But these patterns aren’t personal flaws; they’re adaptive responses shaped by the environments we work in, responses we have the power to control through practice.

This interactive workshop (in the Black Room, PLATF9RM Brighton) explores the relationship between our internal workplace patterns and the external conditions around us – including trust, accountability, and psychological safety.

Through guided reflection, discussion, and practical tools, attendees will gain insight into:

  • How their work patterns show up under pressure
  • The impact of trust and psychological safety on performance and wellbeing
  • Why high accountability without trust often leads to burnout and hypervigilance
  • How to advocate for themselves more effectively at work
  • Ways to build healthier, more sustainable ways of working

Ahead of the session, participants will complete a short self-reflection assessment exploring tendencies such as perfectionism, people-pleasing, and imposter syndrome. During the workshop, we’ll use these insights to better understand how different workplace environments can either support or undermine our ability to thrive.

Led by Alley Marsh (Msc in Industrial Psychology), a coach specialising in psychological safety and neuroinclusive ways of working, the workshop combines evidence-informed coaching with lived experience of ADHD and modern workplace challenges. Note that this workshop is also open to those who do not identify as neurodivergent.

Each participant will also receive a complimentary 30-minute follow-up coaching session to continue exploring any insights or challenges that emerge from the session.
