The Gin:
Contactor’s Classic Dry Gin is distilled using a carefully considered selection of botanicals. Our ratios have been tirelessly tweaked and tested to create a London Dry Gin with a unique flavour. The stars of the show being Hibiscus flower and Lemongrass. That fresh citrus burst combined with smooth floral notes gives you a “flavour bomb” gin produced all within that distillation process.
CC Dry Gin works perfectly in a traditional G&T serve, yet also lends itself flawlessly to the art of cocktail creation.
The Distillery:
The DedBest Distillery is located deep in the Sussex countryside. Our beautiful gin workshop is placed in the old Mill Room on Crockstead Farm, a few moments north of Lewes.
The rolling countryside, beautiful wildlife and friendly locals make it the ideal situation to form our exciting recipes for your enjoyment. Pop in sometime and there’s every chance you’ll meet the free roaming peacocks!
Us:
The friendship of Bob Dedman and Damian Best was born in a bar. Seems fitting right?
Over ten years ago they first met and quickly became close friends. As the years went on, they began working together in the construction industry. Although they enjoyed this greatly, they craved for something more.
When Covid hit the discussions and dreams of creating their very own distillery ramped up and soon became a reality. The DedBest Distillery was born.
In the summer of 2021, the internals to the distillery were put in place. By October the first bottle went out on delivery to our first stockist Medusa Bar on Preston Street in Brighton.
Whilst Bob still works within the construction industry Damian has had a long affiliation with the music industry. Especially the local scene in Brighton and the south coast.
With 17 years of contacts in pubs, bars and entertainment, CC Dry Gin is spreading across venues at an impressive rate for such a young brand.
More:
Over the last year or so DedBest Distillery has released further products including a Charcoal Filtered Vodka. Our now famous GINgerbread Liqueur and Strawberry, Cucumber & Basil Liqueur. We also have an exciting new Rum currently in development!
Why people should do it
So many reasons! Apart from showcasing your rating after completing the risk assessment, micro firms can display their carbon risk rating on their websites, showcasing their commitment to sustainability. This transparency boosts credibility with customers and positions firms as responsible, forward-thinking partners in the supply chain.
Here are some more reasons because it’s common to ask, “Why should small businesses like mine take action when large corporations seem to be lagging behind?” Here’s why your efforts matter:
Cumulative Impact: Though each micro firm may produce less emissions individually, the combined impact of small businesses across the UK is substantial. Together, micro firms make up 96% of all UK businesses, meaning that if each contributes, the collective reduction in emissions is significant
Public Perception/Client Demand: Consumers are increasingly scrutinising the sustainability practices of companies, no matter their size. By showing your commitment early, you stand out to environmentally conscious consumers and can avoid future reputational risks.
Agility and Innovation: As a smaller firm, you are more agile and can implement changes faster than large corporations, which often face bureaucratic and logistical hurdles. This flexibility means you can adapt to new sustainability practices quickly and cost-effectively.
Future-proofing: Sustainability regulations are becoming more stringent. While larger firms will be more heavily regulated, micro firms may soon also face similar requirements. Preparing now helps you future proof your business, making you resilient to any upcoming legislation.( I can provide more details on this if needed)
Cost Savings: While reducing carbon emissions often starts with small steps, such as energy-saving initiatives or waste reduction, these efforts lead to long-term cost savings. Reducing energy use, waste, and reliance on carbon-heavy processes can directly impact your bottom line.
Reputation and Leadership: Smaller firms that prioritise sustainability can become leaders in their sector. Clients appreciate businesses that take proactive steps, and sustainability could differentiate your recruitment agency from larger competitors.
Market Trends: The world is seeing a growing trend towards sustainability. By starting early, you stay ahead of competitors who may be slower to adapt and gain recognition as a leader in green practices.
Community and Resources: LilMa Green’s community hub allows micro firms to connect with other small businesses, share resources, and access industry insights. This support network not only makes sustainability easier but also builds a foundation for firms to grow sustainably together.
Accessible and Tailored Carbon Insights: LilMa Green simplifies sustainability for micro firms, providing easy-to-understand carbon risk ratings and insights tailored to their industry. This enables small businesses to see exactly where they stand and how they can improve, without needing extensive resources or expertise.
Affordable, Practical Guidance: LilMa Green was designed with budget-conscious businesses in mind. The platform offers free resources, offsetting tips, and affordable carbon credit options that are easy for small teams to implement. This means firms can make real progress in carbon reduction without the high costs often associated with sustainability programs.
