We love the city we live in, and want to give back when we can to show our appreciation to this place we call home.
Here’s what we’re up to.
The Clocktower Sanctuary is our chosen charity of 2023, and we will be fundraising a total of £9,000 to support the amazing support work they do for 16-25-year-olds who are homeless or insecurely housed.
The Clocktower Sanctuary are the only day centre for young people experiencing homelessness, giving dignity and opportunity to those who need it. We visited their day centre to have a chat about the crucial support and services they offer for young people in Brighton & Hove. Tap here to see a video from our recent visit.
Every quarter, The Social Society host Charity Hangouts. An opportunity for our community to connect with local charities, share their skills and listen to stories of impact from The Social Society and their charities.
#BatonOfHopeUK is designed to be the biggest suicide awareness and prevention initiative the UK has ever seen, opening up necessary conversations and prompting appropriate actions.
This past July we were honoured to host The Baton of Hope as their second stop of the Brighton Tour, with one of our own, Jessica Samson being a Baton Bearer.
As part of our involvement we donated £1250.97 in event space hire and staffing costs as well as £250 direct donations from ticket sales.
Huge congratulations to PLATF9RM team members Jacob, Grace Haia and Francesca who raised £2,436 for The Clocktower Sanctuary by completing the Three Peaks challenge in May.
Our heroes managed to reach the summit of the three highest mountains in Scotland, Wales & England in under 24 hours, in the name of a charity very close to our hearts. You can still donate via the JustGiving link below.
We offer a 15% discount on memberships for charity and not-for-profit organisations. If you’d like more information, please contact our membership team.
Where coworking and conservation efforts meet! We host the amazing people from wildlife drawing in our Hove space for drawing sessions that perfectly mix some wildlife education with creative fun. A portion of the proceeds always going towards supporting the star animals of that particular session.
For Men’s Health Month, we partnered with local barber Lucky Nine Barber to give our members free cuts, all the while encouraging them to donate to the Movember fund – team members Aaron, Ethan and Jacob also donned the ‘stache look all month to support the cause. In total we raised £158!
Fareshare is an incredible charity fighting food waste and hunger across Sussex and Surrey. We have dedicated drop off points in both our sites to encourage our team and members to contribute where possible.
In 2022, Fareshare provided more than 2.6 million meals and are constantly working to ensure that no good food goes to waste.

Starting in July of 2023 we debuted our internship programme and welcomed in two interns into our spaces. The internship was open to all experience levels with the goal of introducing the successful candidates to all sides of PLATF9RM. Operations, finance, hospitality, marketing, events, social media and CSR are all covered in the 4 month long programme.
As part of the BIMM Institute’s Screen and Film School’s “Intro to Entrepreneurship” course, we provide their first year students with the opportunity to experience a collaborative workspace first-hand.
We partner with Joyfully Different at least once every quarter to provide our members with business events that make an impact.
Joyfully Different is a community for true empowerment and unity that caters to those in the Neurodivergent community, ran by and for Neurodivergent people.
We’ve partnered with Coder Dojo to offer a free, fortnightly coding club for young people.
CoderDojo is a global movement of volunteers, set up to encourage kids and young people to become creators rather than just users of computers. Their aim is to encourage creativity and learning, and their Mentors are on hand to support young people with what they want to do and how they do it.
We’ve recently joined up with Each To Their Own Agency who have been working with us on a total revamp of our internal Culture. We aim to get everyone’s input on the future of PLATF9RM, so that we continue to Make Work Wonderful for our diligent team.
